Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Wimbledon
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Man with Van Wimbledon in respect of its operations and supply chains. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation in every part of our business and in the organisations with which we work.
Man with Van Wimbledon provides man and van and related transport services. Our activities involve close interaction with customers, contractors and suppliers, including vehicle providers, fuel and equipment suppliers, and other logistics partners. We recognise that, although our direct operations are relatively low risk, modern slavery can exist in any sector and jurisdiction, and we are committed to playing our part in eradicating it.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to all people working for or on behalf of Man with Van Wimbledon in any capacity, including employees, agency workers, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
We will not knowingly engage with or support any business or individual involved in forced labour, servitude, debt bondage, child labour, or any form of human trafficking. Breaches of this policy may result in the termination of contracts, suspension of relationships, and, where appropriate, reporting to the relevant authorities.
All staff and contractors engaged by Man with Van Wimbledon are expected to uphold our values of fairness, respect and lawful conduct. We are committed to ensuring that everyone who works for us does so voluntarily, is paid fairly, and works in safe conditions.
Our Supply Chain and Supplier Audits
Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, storage facilities, equipment, uniforms and ancillary logistics services. We aim to work only with reputable suppliers that share our commitment to ethical conduct and the prevention of modern slavery.
We assess our suppliers proportionately according to the level of risk they may present. This assessment takes into account the nature of the goods or services supplied, the geographic location, and any sector-specific risks. Where we identify higher risk, we may conduct more detailed due diligence.
As part of our supplier management process, we reserve the right to conduct audits and reviews of key suppliers. Such audits may cover labour practices, use of subcontractors, recruitment methods, and working conditions. Where necessary, we will ask suppliers to provide evidence of their own anti-slavery policies and procedures and to confirm that they comply with relevant legislation.
If a supplier is found to be involved in, or to have failed to prevent, modern slavery or human trafficking, we will require immediate remedial action. Failure to address concerns to our satisfaction may lead to the termination of the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage a culture of openness, where concerns about modern slavery or unethical practices can be raised without fear of retaliation. Any employee, contractor, supplier or third party who has reasonable grounds to suspect that modern slavery or human trafficking may be occurring in our operations or supply chains is strongly encouraged to report their concerns.
Concerns can be raised directly with management or through any existing internal reporting mechanisms. Reports may include information about working conditions, recruitment fees, retention of identity documents, restricted movement, or any indication that a person may not be working freely and voluntarily.
All reports will be taken seriously, treated confidentially as far as possible, and investigated promptly and fairly. We will not tolerate any form of victimisation or disadvantage against anyone who reports a concern in good faith. Where appropriate, we will cooperate with law enforcement, regulatory bodies and other competent authorities.
Training, Awareness and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery and the expectations set out in this statement among our staff and relevant contractors. Training and guidance will be provided proportionate to roles and responsibilities, focusing on recognising warning signs, understanding reporting routes, and supporting ethical decision-making.
We will continue to review our procedures, risk assessments and controls to strengthen our response to modern slavery risks. Where we identify areas for improvement, we will take steps to update our policies, contracts and working practices accordingly.
Annual Review of this Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once every year by the management of Man with Van Wimbledon. The review will consider changes in our business, lessons learned from any incidents or concerns raised, developments in best practice, and any updates in legislation or guidance.
Following each review, we may revise this statement and our associated procedures to ensure they remain effective, proportionate and aligned with our zero-tolerance approach. The most current version of this statement will represent our ongoing commitment to combating modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains.
